South Carolina Myrtle Beach Business Sparks Debate for ‘Brandishing Politics Like Sports’

Politics has always had its fandoms, but the talk of Trump supporters has definitely sparked heavy debate, with a store in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, being a point of contention. Shared by Paragon_OW on r/pics, a street view of Klig’s Kites can be seen, with decorations of a “MAGA” sign and another that reads “Trump SuperStore.” OP didn’t leave any additional information in the post beyond their chosen headline, which refers to the business “Brandishing politics like sports.”

One person who claimed to have visited a Trump-themed store, as shown in the post’s photo, recalled that the owner allegedly donated 10% of all sales to the Democratic Party. “It was owned by an Indian guy that hated Trump,” the commenter explained, recalling how the owner said most customers overlook the sign that clearly stated the donations to Democrats. Thousands found the user’s story ironically hilarious.

“He’s countergrifting,” one user laughed. “I would like to shake this man’s hand,” remarked another. Some people took this as an opportunity to mock and criticize those who voted for and fervently support the current President. “I’ve said this many times before, and I’ll keep saying it again and again; it’s super easy to con MAGA people,” expressed one Redditor.

“There’s something seriously wrong with the MAGA crowd,“ wrote a user, with another response agreeing, saying how some will be “worshiping” the American military. “Political worship is bonkers,” sighed a second. Hundreds upon hundreds of others chimed in, slamming the Myrtle Beach store as well as Trump supporters in general.

This isn’t the first time a business has been spotted using Trump as a marketing tactic. One particular ice cream shop in Spartanburg County made rounds on Reddit after the owner seemingly criticized Trump for pretending to be Jesus. Still, that didn’t stop them from selling MAGA merch, along with their main selection of cold desserts.
