Our Commitment to Reporting
The editorial standards on this page describe how The Trend Stash team reports, sources, verifies, and corrects every story we publish. They reflect the principles we apply to every piece of content that goes live on the site, from a quick celebrity update to a multi-source local crime report.
We hold ourselves to the spirit of long-established journalism ethics, including those outlined in the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, and we welcome reader feedback whenever we fall short of the editorial standards we set for ourselves.
Original Reporting
Every article on The Trend Stash is original work produced by our editorial team. We do not republish wire copy from other outlets, lift stories from competitors, or syndicate content under our masthead that was not written here. When a story builds on reporting from another publication, we link to the source clearly and credit it by name within the article itself.
We also do not publish AI-generated articles as reporting. While our team may use AI tools for research, idea generation, or grammar review, every final story is written, edited, and fact-checked by a human member of our staff.
Sourcing and Verification
Before a story goes live on The Trend Stash, we work to verify the central claims through reliable sources. Depending on the story, those sources may include court records, official statements, on-the-record interviews, primary documents, established news outlets, and verified social media accounts.
When a story is still developing or relies on a single source, we say so plainly in the article. When we report something we cannot independently confirm, we attribute the claim to whoever made it and flag the uncertainty for the reader. We would rather publish a careful story slightly later than rush a sloppy one.
Accuracy and Corrections
Mistakes happen in fast-moving newsrooms, and we treat the way we handle them as a core part of our editorial standards. When we discover an error, or when a reader points one out, we review it promptly. If a correction is warranted, we update the article, note the correction transparently, and credit the reader if their tip led to the fix.
For details on how to flag a potential error, see our Corrections Policy or reach out directly through our Contact page.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial decisions are made by our editorial team alone. Advertisers, partners, sponsors, and external stakeholders do not influence which stories we cover, how we cover them, or what conclusions we draw. Sponsored content, when it appears on The Trend Stash, is clearly labeled as such and never published under the same byline structure as editorial reporting.
Conflict of Interest
Our writers and editors disclose any personal, professional, or financial interest that could reasonably be seen as a conflict with a story they are working on. When a conflict cannot be avoided, the story is reassigned to another team member. When that is not possible, we disclose the connection openly within the article so readers can weigh it for themselves.
Plagiarism and Attribution
We treat plagiarism as a firing offense. Quotes are attributed to their speakers, facts originating in another outlet’s reporting are credited and linked, and any time we draw on outside research, we say so. Original phrasing, original framing, and original reporting are not optional at The Trend Stash; they are the baseline our editorial standards require.
Reader Feedback
These editorial standards exist in service of our readers. If you believe we have fallen short of any of the principles on this page, we want to hear from you. You can reach our editorial team directly at [email protected] or through our Contact page. Every message is read and responded to.
We take the trust our readers place in us seriously. The editorial standards on this page are the framework we use to earn it, every day, one story at a time.
