New York residents on r/upstate_new_york and r/LakeGeorge looked on in horror and disgust as a truck driver was caught “rolling coal” at Lake George. In a video shared by Engerer4k, a truck spewed a massive black cloud of exhaust smoke as it drove down a public road. People sitting on chairs in the grass nearby watched the scene as another man seemingly approached the truck before it sped off, leaving visible pollution in its wake. Needless to say, online users were not happy.
According to Engerer4k, there were no protests taking place at Lake Georgia. Tourists were simply enjoying their time along Beach Road when the truck driver allegedly pulled up and began circling the area, blowing smoke at random pedestrians. “I know he did it on purpose. This truck, with two people inside, was slowly making laps along Beach Road, looking for groups of people to roll coal at,” Engerer4k explained.
OP also confirmed that the man seen walking into the street in the video was attempting to confront the coal roller. Unfortunately, there was little he could do once the driver sped off and allegedly continued the harassment elsewhere. “Imagine being in the Adirondacks, one of the largest protected parks in the country, and thinking, ‘I’m going to ruin someone’s day by polluting the environment,’” one commenter sighed.

One Redditor claimed the truck driver’s behavior revealed his political leanings. “Normal Republican behavior,” the commenter wrote, prompting dozens of upvotes from users who appeared to agree. Another responded more sarcastically: “That insecure snowflake is gonna make a right and go spend his life savings on homoerotic Trump shirts at the DILGAFF store.”
“That’s the kind of thing that happens in my rural community all summer long. Every road is covered in tire marks. One of the local rednecks must be on vacation,” another suggested.
