A DoorDash driver in Washington is facing criticism after a customer claimed they failed to communicate effectively and delivered her food to the wrong address. According to the customer, she repeatedly tried to clarify the exact location of her door, but the driver still did not complete the delivery correctly. Fortunately, she said her order was later redelivered by another driver. Still, many online users were outraged that the situation happened in the first place.

The customer’s story was shared on r/doordash by MuchLavishness, who claims that she “never thought it would be this hard to tell the driver they didn’t deliver to the right door.” On top of poor communication between her and the driver, she said the DoorDasher took a picture without the door number, leaving her clueless as to where the food was.

Before the Comment Section Was Locked, Redditors Slammed the DoorDash Driver

Unfortunately, the post’s comment section was locked due to “political comments” that violated the subreddit’s rules. Though beforehand, plenty of people were still able to express their thoughts and distaste for the driver. “I’m sorry, but that driver chose not to understand. No matter what language you speak, you should be able to find an apartment,” remarked a user.

The commenter continued, arguing that the way the DoorDash driver improperly took the photo proved their carelessness about the order. Another Redditor claimed their 9-year-old child could communicate better with the customer. “I’m constantly amazed at how these people are even legally allowed to operate a vehicle,” they exclaimed in disbelief.

Some criticized his alleged inability to understand the customer. “Yes we’re diverse but not knowing English in the US is ridiculous,” sighed one user. “These people don’t work these jobs because they like it, they work these jobs because they’re unable to handle anything else,” wrote a second. Several harsher comments ended up being deleted by mods.

On the other hand, some commenters criticized MuchLavishness for sharing her experience with the driver, especially since the issue with her order was ultimately resolved. “I paid to have it delivered,” she replied, noting that previous drivers had never caused any problems until this incident.
