In this context, a troubling incident reportedly took place inside a Goodwill store in Mount Pleasant, Texas, where a customer allegedly directed racist remarks at an employee for speaking Spanish. A video capturing the confrontation has since circulated widely online.
The clip appears to have been recorded at the checkout counter of a Goodwill store. In the footage, a Texas man wearing a navy striped T-shirt and orange shorts is seen during a confrontation. Although the events that led up to the incident are not shown, reports indicate that the customer became upset after overhearing an employee speaking Spanish.
The employee filming the encounter approaches the man and says, “Sir, I’m an American citizen.” The man then responds loudly and aggressively, saying, “Yeah! You’re an immigrant.”
She attempts to calm him down, but the confrontation only intensifies. “You’re an immigrant. Immigrant!” the man shouts angrily. As the exchange escalates, the employee appears to say a few words in Spanish. The customer responds mockingly, “No speak English. I don’t speak English. No comprendi. I didn’t ask you to come here.”
The worker replies, “Yes, I do, sir. I’m speaking English. Smile for the camera, sir. What is your name, sir?” Still visibly upset, the shopper fires back sarcastically, “Goofy. That’s what my name is.” He then places his money on the counter to pay for his items.
Toward the end of the clip, police can be seen speaking with the customer in the parking lot. He shows no apparent remorse for his behavior; instead, he continues to curse at the employee and repeatedly shouts “immigrant” at her. It remains unclear whether he faced any charges.
As the viral footage continues to spread across social media, users have been widely condemning the man’s rude and racist behavior. On Reddit, one user wrote, “Every person in the video is a product of immigration,” while another jokingly commented, “Is this Peter Griffin’s evil twin?” Meanwhile, on Instagram, a commenter sharply criticized him, writing, “Disaster of a human… MAGA would be proud to see more animals like this.”
Although the heated altercation ended without injury, one thing remains clear: racism is unacceptable in any form, and the customer’s conduct was completely inappropriate.
