Texas Bride’s Preserved Wedding Bouquet Arrives Destroyed, Sparking Outrage: ‘The Piece Is Sentimental and Irreplaceable’

A day after returning from her honeymoon, a Texas woman was heartbroken to find that her preserved bridal bouquet had arrived in the mail completely destroyed. Reddit user Catmom_mac said she had paid $325 to have the bouquet from her Wisconsin wedding professionally preserved. However, the company she hired allegedly shipped the framed keepsake in disastrous condition, with the glass, frame, and flowers shattered into pieces.

Am I overreacting by asking for more than just a full refund for destroying my bridal bouquet?

Catmom_mac shared on r/AmIOverreacting and r/whatdoIdo that her wedding had taken place the previous September, giving the preservation artist approximately six months to complete work on her bridal bouquet. “The piece is sentimental and irreplaceable,” she said. “It’s just heartbreaking when there’s no accountability taken.”

Hundreds of Reddit users from both subreddits flooded the comments with advice on how she should handle the situation. Many criticized the sender for failing to package the bouquet properly and for refusing the wife’s proposed solutions, including a 60% discount on a smaller remake, with the family taking care of shipping.

Commenters Criticized the Seller for the Careless and Irresponsible Packaging

“I wouldn’t ask her to remake it, since she doesn’t seem to take much care with her work. You’d likely just be risking the same disappointing experience again,” one commenter advised. “The seller did an atrocious job, especially knowing how irreplaceable this item is. She really let OP down,” another added.

Fortunately, the seller offered a full refund, which most commenters agreed was the best possible outcome.

“Refund. I wouldn’t trust her for anything else,” one Redditor wrote.

“She had a duty to ensure the product was properly packaged so it was not damaged in shipping. Get your money back and blast her in reviews; it’s your only viable option,” another commenter agreed.

Unfortunately, Catmom_mac will never be able to recover the original bridal bouquet from her wedding. However, she later updated her post to explain that she had decided to accept the refund in order to avoid any further complications with the business.
