Pennsylvania Trump Voter Goes Viral After Blasting Rising Gas Prices and Iran War: ‘Has a Neuron Activated in There?!’

Pennsylvania always commands attention during election season. It is the kind of state where a small cluster of votes—cast by people stopping at a diner or filling up at a gas station—can help determine the outcome. Millersburg lies in the 10th Congressional District, a competitive battleground where Trump narrowly won in 2024, 52% to 47%. On Tuesday, an NBC News senior politics reporter visited a gas station in Millersburg, Pennsylvania, and asked local residents a simple question. One woman’s response went viral before the segment had even finished airing.

"I’m an idiot": Pennsylvania voter who voted for Trump three times expresses deep regret during an interview.

NBC News sent its senior political reporter to the Penn Jersey Mart in Millersburg, Pennsylvania, where he spoke with drivers as they filled their tanks, hoping to gauge local sentiment about gas prices and the war with Iran. When he approached Amanda Robbins, he asked what she would say to Trump if he were listening.

Robbins did not hesitate. Looking straight into the camera, she said, “You are a worthless pile of s**t.” When the reporter asked how many times she had voted for Trump, she fired back, “Three times,” then added, “That was my bad. Apparently, I’m an idiot.”

Robbins criticized the rising cost of living and questioned the logic of entering another war overseas. The clip spread almost immediately, circulating widely across social media within an hour.

Robbins’ frustration is easier to understand when viewed against the numbers. Nationwide gas prices have climbed by nearly a dollar since mid-February, reaching $3.84 on March 18. Pennsylvania is close behind, with prices averaging $3.80 after rising 14 cents in just one week.

Brent crude surged to nearly $103 a barrel on Tuesday, a sharp increase of almost 50% from prewar levels. The jump came after Iran attacked oil and gas production facilities for the first time since the conflict began.

Internet Can’t Believe Someone Voted for Trump Three Times and Finally Snapped

The moment quickly drew strong reactions online, with many users highlighting the irony of her frustration.

“Getting pissed off about gas prices due to your voting decisions is like literally one of the most American things ever.”

“So if this is what it takes for a large number of Americans to recognize inflation, etc, then that is likely to be the cause of a change at the polls.”

“Said it with her whole chest and full government name on the screen. Hopefully her MAGA neighbors don’t torch her house.”

“Omg has… a neuron activated in there?! Or is it only when the gas pump goes up that they start to learn?”

Pennsylvania voters have a long history of surprising political observers, and many are watching them closely as the midterms approach. Amanda Robbins’s brief moment at a Millersburg gas station may not change policy on its own, but it captured something raw and revealing: a glimpse of how some once-loyal Trump voters are feeling right now.
