In a post on r/Weird, user ChampagneGraggle explained that they were simply trying to watch the World Cup on Fubo during a lunch break. Instead of the game broadcast, however, they were met with an unsettling image of a highway exit.
According to ChampagneGraggle, the highway exit shown is the exact one they take to get to work—a detail they found deeply unsettling. They also noted that they do not own a dashcam, and the image in the post does not appear anywhere on their phone. In other words, the picture could only have been captured by a camera somewhere along that highway.
Redditors Agreed That the Mysterious Interruption of the Broadcast Was Not Related to Espionage
One of the most upvoted comments on the Minnesota resident’s post came from a user who pointed to an audiovisual technology known as multicast. The commenter suggested that a nearby camera may have been “negotiating for the same IP address as the Fubo stream,” causing the highway image to appear in place of the World stream on Fubo.
“This sounds crazy, but with Flock cameras, plus auto manufacturers getting patents for monitoring inside your vehicle.”
Others appeared to agree with the theory, and gave their own thoughts.
“This sounds about right! I checked the Minnesota traffic/weather cameras, and there certainly is a camera there,”
ChampagneGraggle said they were inclined to believe it and responded to the comment.

Based on those details, the user speculated that the still frame may have come from a TV show designed to resemble a low-resolution film scan with a vintage aesthetic, and that someone had something to say about it.
