A driver in Nashville, Tennessee, was caught on video shouting racial slurs at another motorist—until he appeared to realize he was being recorded. User @TizzyEnt, known for highlighting racially charged encounters, shared the footage on X in an effort to identify the man. In the clip, the driver is seen sitting in his car, a phone held to his ear, yelling at another driver.

During the exchange, the driver repeatedly used profanities and offensive language, including references to the N-word, escalating what was already a tense and uncomfortable confrontation. The person on the receiving end made it clear that they did not want to be spoken to in such a disrespectful and degrading manner, directly demanding that he stop using racist and abusive language toward them. Rather than showing any remorse or attempting to de-escalate the situation, the driver appeared dismissive and unapologetic. He smiled as he continued to justify his behavior, insisting that he did not care if he was White or if his words were viewed as racist. His response only reinforced the hostility of the encounter, making it clear that he had little concern for the harm caused by his language or the impact it had on the person he was addressing.

He then mockingly added, “We’re in Tennessee; it’s where the KKK started.” When the driver turned around, he realized that several onlookers were recording the entire exchange. Visibly embarrassed, he cried out, ducked down, and reclined his seat in an attempt to hide. The person filming then mocked him for seeking cover once he noticed he was being recorded.

An amused TikToker focused on the comedy of the driver’s immediate reaction. A second marveled at the speed he used to recline, and another joked that the panic and shock he displayed was so severe it looked like his soul had completely left his body. A user expressed enthusiasm for the inevitable backlash that would follow the clip showing the driver’s action. However, someone suggested that the driver probably moved in circles, which validates his racist behavior, seeing how brazen he was.

The driver’s reaction to being recorded underscores the internet’s power to hold individuals accountable, no matter where they are.
