Most road rage incidents are driven by emotion, but for one person of color in Florida, the encounter was especially bewildering. The man who assaulted him appeared to do so without any clear provocation. When the driver confronted the aggressor, the situation escalated further, with the man threatening to call ICE, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
The alarming incident reportedly occurred on a highway in Jacksonville, Florida, in early December. TikTok user @kodrift, who is believed to have been the driver recording the video, claimed that the pickup truck driver had threatened him with a weapon before the footage began. In the clip, he said, “This man just pulled a gun on me for no reason—for letting him pass!”
For reasons unclear, the aggrieved driver still confronted the pickup truck driver, despite knowing he was armed. The pickup truck driver noticed, immediately stopped his vehicle, and confronted the person of color, further threatening him while yelling, “Don’t ever talk to me again! You don’t know who I am!” He then returned to his truck. Before speeding away, the pickup truck driver also shouted, “I’ll call ICE.”
The pickup truck driver was reportedly identified as Robert Wilkins, an employee of a company called Lawns Unlimited LLC. Unfortunately, other businesses with the same name have received negative reviews and publicity, despite having no affiliation or connection to the Lawns Unlimited LLC associated with the driver.
People Online Are Pointing Out the Man’s Background
In addition to the many angry people online attempting to call the now-disconnected phone number displayed on the pickup truck, several commenters pointed out other troubling details about the driver. “So nobody is going to mention the 3% vest and patch he’s wearing? Dude is a straight up white supremacist,” wrote one Reddit user.
Others questioned why the pickup truck driver appeared to be operating under the same business name as companies listed on Yelp in Florida. One commenter wrote, “I’m betting he doesn’t actually have an LLC for his ‘Lawns Unlimited’ business, probably operates under the table, and the official West Coast company is getting Google hate because of that dork,” while another added, “The real Lawns Unlimited LLC is apparently going to be suing this guy lol.”
In any case, the road rage victim appeared to be physically unharmed, though many criticized his response especially given that the other driver had allegedly threatened him with a weapon. “If he had just pulled a gun on me, I would NOT have pulled up next to him. Kid’s lucky he didn’t get shot,” one commenter argued.
