Walmart has been home to plenty of unintentionally bizarre products over the years, but for one Tennessee customer, the California Pizza Kitchen “pizza” he bought from the retail giant may take the top spot. Apparently, this was a pizza like no other: it arrived with no crust or bread at all, turning what was supposed to be a hopeful pizza night into a viral online rant. The unlucky customer, TikTok user drewtastic658 from Nashville, Tennessee, said he bought a couple of California Pizza Kitchen Crispy Thin Crust BBQ Chicken pizzas. But when he opened one of the boxes, he discovered that the “crispy” and “thin” crust was actually just a piece of cardboard.
The TikTok user went on a rant as he discovered the pizza was less than ideal, with no crust but still having sauce. While this was certainly a sad situation for him, there was a silver lining. Fortunately, the second pizza he purchased was fully intact, crust included—though he remained furious over what he described as a scam.
The customer went on to say on his TikTok account that he demanded a refund from Walmart and California Pizza Kitchen, to which the latter replied: “That’s definitely not the pizza experience we promised! Send us a DM, and we’ll make it up to you.” And even if this was a great response from the company, it seems it backfired, as other disappointed customers came forward to complain.
TikTokers Debate On Whether The Man’s Complaints Were An Overreaction
So far, the Tennessee man’s impassioned complaint about the pizza has garnered at least one million views online. Many users have found his reaction both hilarious and absurd. Walmart, however, has not responded, and some commenters have argued that the store is not at fault.
In the end, several users took different stances, with some backing the customer up, while others thought this was blown out of proportion.
“Factory mistake… relax, bro. It’s a seven-dollar pizza.”
“Well, it is not Walmart’s fault, you know?”
On the other side of the discussion, some people even started joking about how the current administration is to blame, claiming that this is the outcome of what Trump has been doing.
“This is the shrinkflation we were promised.”
Still, it seems the general consensus is that the man definitely overreacted and, while it was an unfortunate situation, it shouldn’t have exploded as much as it did.
