According to a new report, tensions within the royal family may have played a larger role than scheduling conflicts during King Charles III’s recent visit to the United States. As first reported by Radar Online, the monarch allegedly did not meet with his estranged son, Prince Harry, because of behind-the-scenes resistance from Queen Camilla.
The report claims Harry was left disappointed after learning there would be no opportunity to see his father during the four-day visit to the United States, despite the trip including several high-profile public engagements.
According to sources cited by Radar Online, Harry understood the official itinerary was arranged well in advance but still hoped time could have been carved out for a private meeting.
King Charles and Queen Camilla reportedly attended a state dinner with Donald Trump and took part in events commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence, while also visiting families affected by the September 11 attacks.
However, the report alleges the real obstacle was internal family friction rather than logistics.
Sources claimed Camilla was strongly opposed to a reunion between father and son, believing Harry’s public criticism of the royal family over recent years caused lasting damage to both the monarchy and Charles personally.
The strained relationship between Harry and Camilla has reportedly remained unresolved since Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California.
Since then, tensions have repeatedly re-emerged through high-profile interviews, the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare, and a series of media projects focused on the couple’s experiences within royal life.
Radar Online’s report also highlighted criticism of Harry and Meghan’s recent appearances in Australia, which some commentators likened to an unofficial royal tour given their public engagements and speaking events.
The publication further alleged that resentment remains on both sides, noting that Harry has previously addressed his complicated feelings toward Camilla in Spare and in earlier interviews.
Despite continued speculation about possible reconciliation efforts, the latest report suggests that relations within the royal family remain deeply strained behind closed doors.
