An outraged mother in Maryland claims that a container of infant formula she purchased from a Walmart store was allegedly filled with flour. The woman, who said she bought the product at a Walmart in Nottingham near Towson, shared a TikTok video describing her experience. She explained that she did not initially notice anything unusual because the seal appeared intact at first glance. She added that she had never encountered such an issue before and therefore had no reason to suspect tampering.
The woman claimed that someone—possibly a parent—may have replaced the formula’s contents with flour, returned the tampered product, and had it mistakenly reshelved for sale. To illustrate her concern, she compared the suspicious container with another one she said she had purchased earlier. She scooped powder from both containers, showing viewers that one had a finer, more powdery texture, while the other appeared thicker and had a flour-like smell.
She conducted an additional on-camera test, pouring some of the questionable powder into a cup that previously contained coffee and mixing it with a small amount of water. After stirring with a straw, the mixture thickened noticeably, which she said reinforced her belief that the product was not genuine infant formula.
The woman expressed alarm at the discovery, emphasizing that she could have unknowingly fed the mixture to her child. She also alleged that when she tried to return the product to another Walmart location, an employee informed her that infant formula cannot be returned and advised her to contact the original store where she made the purchase.
Maryland Residents Shocked At Mom’s Discovery
As you can imagine, several Maryland residents backed the mother up, and many of them reacted with shock and disgust at what the mom had discovered.
“They are not supposed to put formula – sealed or not – back on the shelves!”
Many other TikTokers were scared of thinking what could have happened if the mom had used this formula, as it could have been extremely harmful to the kid.
“What if you were extra tired? What if you were new to using formulas? There are so many what-ifs. This could’ve gone REALLY badly. I hope you sue.”
In the end, it seems the mother managed to contact the FDA and Walmart, and it seems they are now reviewing the situation. However, as many have said, this is a delicate matter and something that should never happen. Fortunately, this mom was able to prevent something unfortunate, but things could have gone much worse.
