A pregnant couple in South Carolina claims they were robbed of their Fetch rewards by an employee at a Walmart. In a TikTok video, the woman explained that she and her partner had just finished shopping and were about to leave the store when an employee at the exit stopped them and asked to check their receipt, which led to the situation described in the video below.

After handing over the receipt, the employee reportedly took a quick photo of it with her phone before handing it back. At the time, neither she nor the couple thought much of it, and they continued on their way.

However, once the couple returned to their car, they realized something was off. The woman explained that when she tried to scan the receipt to collect points from her purchases, the Fetch Rewards app flagged it as already submitted. Perplexed, she double-checked to ensure she had the correct receipt, only to receive the same response.

Because they had just obtained the receipt, the couple began to suspect that the employee who photographed it at the exit may have submitted it herself to claim the reward points before they could.

After the woman’s initial post about the incident gained traction on TikTok, she later shared an update stating that both Walmart’s corporate office and Fetch had reached out to her regarding the situation.

According to her account, Fetch reviewed her case and verified that a duplicate scan had been attempted. While the receipt in question would have earned only twenty-five points, she stated that Fetch not only credited her with those original points but also awarded an additional one thousand points as compensation. She further explained that she did not intend to seek disciplinary action against the employee involved. Instead, she expressed satisfaction with Fetch’s resolution and said she would leave the matter in the company’s hands.

    TikTokers React to Walmart Incident

Despite the situation having a peaceful outcome, and one where the culprit didn’t get into trouble, several TikTokers felt angry after learning there are people out there looking to snatch rewards from others, and heavily criticized the employee in the video’s comment section.

    “I would be flipping out.”

“You paid the money, and someone else got the reward.“

Other TikTokers mentioned that if this employee did this with the couple’s receipt, there could have been a chance that it had happened before or might happen later. Still, there hasn’t been any information about another Fetch-related incident in this establishment.
