A manager in Atlanta, Georgia, threatened to fire an employee after all he wanted was to use the restroom. The affected person recorded the entire interaction, in which the person in charge of the company denied the worker their right to use the bathroom. The employee proceeded to record the employer, but the latter kept ignoring him, claiming that the worker was breaking the rules and even violating the company’s policy just because he was recording this interaction.
Rude Atlanta Manager Forbids Employee From Using the Bathroom
TikTok user Ty_so_fly shared the 11-minute video on his account. In the footage, you can observe how this manager in Atlanta, known as Jim Warren in the Terminal company, denied the man his rights to use the bathroom.
The user enters the manager’s office, asking if he can use the bathroom there as someone is using the other. However, the one in the office says, “You can’t use this one here.” The employee continues to say that he will use that one because there’s no other option, and the manager replies, “Then you’re not going to work here.”
Then, the worker asks if he’s going to be fired for using the restroom, and the one in charge continues to say that he can use the one outside. The man who’s filming continues to ask the manager if he’s really getting fired for using the restroom, but the manager masks it by saying, “For not following instructions.”
The exchange continues for a while, with both going back and forth, until the employee says he’s recording everything and will show it to OSHA. However, the manager says that it is against the company’s policy to record and have phones inside the company. Yet, when he’s asked about the said policy, he’s unable to find it, making this claim seem false.
After a while, the worker continues to ask about the policy, and the manager claims that it isn’t just the company’s policy, but also the owner’s policy. Then again, he’s unable to find any document that confirms this, which only makes it appear that the supervisor wanted to prevent this person from using the bathroom at the company.
Attempting to change the topic, Warren now claims that the other bathroom has always been dirty and that this is another reason why he doesn’t want the employee to use the other one. However, when the worker asks for evidence, Warren is also unable to provide anything.
Long story short, the employee didn’t get to use the restroom, and the manager failed to provide the alleged policy that mentioned things about recording and the rules this worker was supposedly breaking.
As you can imagine, a lot of people commented to defend the man and even shared some advice on what we could do after this situation.
“Wow!! That’s insane. Why would it matter if you’re using the indoor or outdoor bathroom? You’re an employee! Unless it was his “Personal ” bathroom, which it isn’t, I just don’t understand. What’s the problem?!” – One user said.
“Sue for hostile work environment and discrimination.” Another person commented.
Ultimately, the supervisor told the man that they would work later. When the employee asked if he’d continue to work there, the manager said yes, so it seems this person still has his job, but that’s all we know right now.
In any case, this is a sad situation for someone who’s supposed to be in charge of the company. If it isn’t your private bathroom and everyone has access to it, what’s the big deal? Hopefully, the worker will send this to OSHA, so they can see the type of abuse this man is dealing with at the company.
