Ever seen something while you’re out and about that made you wonder: “Whatever happened to being considerate?” Well, a homeowner in Missouri has two neighbors who are perfect examples of individuals who display peak inconsideration. Despite their entire driveways being empty, they decide to park their cars right in the middle of the sidewalk, for no reason whatsoever.
“I walk my dog in the mornings. It’s like this every day,” she explains to r/mildlyinfuriating. In her Reddit post, she showcases the two neighbors’ vehicles parked smack dab right in the center of both sides of the sidewalk. Their driveways? Completely empty, with plenty of room to fit one if not two cars. Not only is their habit of doing this seriously inconsiderate, but it’s also rather bizarre. As OP says, she does this every day, making these parking scenes infuriating mysteries, to say the least.
Reddit Recommends Walking All Over the Missouri Neighbors’ Property in Protest
The solution? Thousands of Redditors advise OP and others to use the other available area to cross the sidewalk blockades, the Missouri neighbors’ private property. “I wouldn’t walk in the road,” says a commenter. “I’d walk over their grass and driveway! F**k them.” A reply chimes in in agreement, “Do this. Wear and tear on their lawn until a nice, hard-pack dirt path shows up.” “Show them consequences to blocking the path,” a third agrees.
Some might consider trespassing on private property to be rather extreme for someone parking on the sidewalk. But considering how what they’re doing is both illegal and a hazard in Missouri and across the US, it’d be hard to feel guilty when doing so. As one person explains, “that this is illegal because it usually forces people to walk in the street, which is unsafe, and exactly why there is a sidewalk in the first place.” Disabled and elderly people, in particular, would definitely have a rough time trying to make their way around the cars sitting in the sidewalk’s path.
While a bit harsh, I think many of us can agree with one commenter saying, “I hate people like this. They are so self-centered and don’t give a shit about how their actions affect others. Taking everything they’ve ever had for granted. D**chebags.” They continue, encouraging OP to call the city, file a complaint, and keep doing so until something is done. That’s about the safest and smartest way to get the neighbors to come to their senses about parking on the sidewalks.
