Fox News Host Says Child Labor Can Fill the Gap Left by Trump’s Deportations, ‘Makes Me Want to Cry’

A Fox News host recently suggested on live TV that children should work in blueberry fields during the summer. I will let this sink in for a bit, but if it hasn’t, let me be clearer about what this person just suggested: child labor. According to him, not a lot of Americans want to work in farming and construction jobs. As you know, the people who worked there were largely immigrants, and well, they are almost extinct in the country. So, this person’s “brilliant” idea is to bring children to work in the fields.

As you may or may not know, there has been some sort of reduction in labor in different areas across the country, mainly farming and construction. However, the former is the one that got hit the hardest lately. The harvest season is upon us, and there aren’t a lot of workers available to tend the fields or harvest the fruits and vegetables that should go to all corners of the country. Of course, this is arguably Trump’s fault, as he’s arrested a lot of the people who used to help in the fields. Now, some critics are suggesting a few solutions, but some are downright insulting.

This weekend, an anchor of Fox News went live on TV as he and two other hosts discussed the farming situation in the country. He starts by saying, “I grew up pulling tobacco. They are wonderful jobs.” He then mentions how these wonderful jobs have been handed over to illegal aliens in the country. He then says that the government could pay more for blueberry picking, as a way to encourage Americans to do it.

    However, he ends up saying,

“Also, allow children to do it as summer jobs. The idea that your precious government doesn’t allow children to work summer jobs in blueberry fields is just mind-blowing.”

Fortunately, the wild rant ends here, but you can see the baffled looks of the other co-hosts when this man tried to suggest children should be the ones working the fields. Again, he didn’t emphasize grown-up Americans. No. He emphasized how “mind-blowing” it is that the government doesn’t allow children to pick blueberries.

In truth, there’s nothing mind-blowing about it. What really blows our minds is the fact that a person who’s allegedly trained to be on live TV can say this amount of nonsense. And you know what? A lot of people share the sentiment toward this Fox News host.

“Government forced, child slave labor is a mindblowing idea over at FoxNews! 🙃” wrote one Reddit user.

“Makes me want to cry. Children should be allowed to live as children. Why is this a**hole taking America hostage while boasting how he wants to set free hostages from Gaza? What the hell,” another person commented.

Right now, people are angered and shocked after hearing this. But let’s face it: that’s how most people feel nowadays with everything that’s going on around the country. We can only hope that no one pays attention to this man’s ideas because they are downright nasty.
