When you buy a case of beer or any type of alcohol, the thing you would least expect to find would be something related to the fate of your soul. Well, unfortunately for an individual in Michigan, a pack of beer told them that they were on the path to damnation — well, at least a random note inside the packaging said so. Inside the newly purchased box of Fat Tire Ale, the buyer discovered a note that said, “There is not a party in Hell. You need to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ.”
“Opened some beer to put in the fridge and saw found this inside,” the Michigan Reddit user said in the post of the photo of the beer note. “Guess I’ll party now since there isn’t one in hell.” Although this was posted into r/mildlyinfuriating, many in the comment section found the situation to be more hilarious than aggravating. “Do you know the difference between Baptists and Methodists? Methodists speak to each other in the liquor store,” joked one commenter. A few went on to call out a sect of Christianity, commenting on how hypocritical some believers can be.
The So-Called Christian Who Implanted the Note Works at the Beer Factory
Another made a remark about the man who turned water into wine: Jesus Christ himself. “Yes. The guy who turned water into wine has a problem with you drinking alcohol,” they quipped. “He literally passed wine around with his friends and said it was his blood,” added a response. Others went on to observe how it does seem like the note was put into the box when it was packaged.
In other words, it would likely mean that the so-called religious enthusiast who printed and placed the note actually works at the beer company. “Which I guess would be normal godfreak hypocrite stuff,” one commenter says, poking fun. “Technically, this qualifies as tampering with a product,” remarks another, saying how it could be seen as a crime.
And if you’re wondering, no, the Michigan customer was not successfully converted by the implanter of the note’s attempt. “Did it work? Did the paper’s attempt at shaming you result in a complete change of both your ideas and beliefs?” one commenter eagerly asked. “I have no shame,” OP said in a reply. “But I do have 12 beers.”
