Every parent wants to make a good impression for their kids in front of their friends, especially on their first day at school. Unfortunately for one Tennessee dad, he made a big mistake that his son probably won’t be forgetting anytime soon. Thinking that he would pick up his son on the same lane he dropped him off, the father drove down the road, only to find himself trapped between two long rows of school buses.

“So, now I’m trapped in between buses,” the dad said regrettably in a Reddit post showcasing his big error in judgment. “My son is never going to forgive me for embarrassing him on his first day of middle school,” he groaned. Looking at the uploaded photos, the dad’s car probably looks like a sore thumb sticking out between all those yellow school buses. No doubt, it’s definitely going to be weird for the son to explain to his peers why his dad is sitting in the bus pick-up lane when he comes out to go home.

The Tennessee Dad’s Going To Be Waiting a Long Time Before He Can Take His Son Home

My son is never going to forgive me for embarrassing him on his first day of middle school. Apparently the pick up line is not in the same place as the drop off line. So now I’m trapped in between busses.

One commenter recalls how, back in their high school days, “it was absolute insanity every morning and afternoon despite all attempts to divert traffic, and parents, bus drivers, and students would all be total d*cks to each other bc of the traffic.” In other words, this particular Tennessee parent might have an embarrassing moment picking up his son, but at least everything seems to be in order in the bus lane, excluding his bright red car, of course.

Still, considering how many buses are in the pictures, as well as those that are off-camera, there’s no telling how long the boy might have to wait before he can leave in his family’s car. Even the dad was shocked by the number of buses and students the middle school has. “It’s huge! I was shocked when we went to the “Meet and Greet” on Thursday. It’s bigger than the first college I attended,” he exclaimed about the school. “That’s an absurd number of school buses,” another remarks in agreement.

Well, even though the Tennessee dad might have embarrassed his son on the first day at middle school, down the road, it’ll be as one commenter puts it: “It’ll be embarrassing now, it would be a laughing inside joke down the line in a decade.” Or, as another Reddit user jokes, “Your son has his own private bus. He should be proud. Heads up, and taking it like a King.”
