A man driving a white Mercedes in Boynton Beach, Florida, has ignited widespread outrage online after being filmed tailing another driver while performing a gesture widely recognized as a symbol linked to extremist groups. The other driver—a young Black woman—reports that the encounter followed a heated verbal exchange in which the man allegedly directed a racial slur at her.
Although that portion of their interaction was not captured on camera and therefore cannot be independently verified, the available footage shows him driving closely behind her vehicle in traffic, his arm raised in a rigid gesture that many viewers interpreted as an offensive salute. He maintained that position for several seconds and appeared, at one point, to quickly draw his thumb across his neck—a motion widely recognized as a threatening gesture. The woman recorded the incident through her rearview mirror and later posted the clip on TikTok, asking viewers to help identify the driver.
Audience Reaction to the Video
In the comments section, countless viewers are having a field day trying to uncover the man’s identity. Popular social media commentator @Tizzyent even reposted the video on his own page, inviting his followers to join the search. Beyond the lighthearted sleuthing, however, many users expressed deep concern over the situation. One commenter asked, “Wouldn’t that be considered a hate crime?” Another sympathized, “I’m sorry you had to experience that — it must have been terrifying.” A third added, “Being targeted with a slur is something you never forget.”
Several viewers openly criticized the driver’s conduct. “That salute was pretty sassy,” one commenter remarked. Another questioned, “Why is he running his thumb across his throat at you? Gestures like that should be taken seriously.” A third observer added, “There need to be consequences for behavior like this.”
At this time, the motive behind the altercation remains uncertain, and the Florida woman has not confirmed whether she reported the incident to local authorities.
