In Chattanooga, Tennessee, two street preachers were recently asked to leave a public library after interrupting a private workshop being held at the venue. According to the organizers of a YouTube channel called Abolitionists of Alabama, the event was part of a series of workshops designed for parents and educators seeking guidance on how to support transgender children.

As shown in the footage, the two preachers, a man and a woman, entered the space to protest the event and quickly became involved in a confrontation with several attendees. Members of the workshop repeatedly asked the pair to leave, explaining that the gathering was a private event. However, the preachers refused, arguing that the library was a public facility funded by taxpayers and that they therefore had the right to remain inside.

The male preacher then began to confront those present, accusing them of harming children and warning that they would one day answer to God for it. “What will you tell God when He asks you why you perverted your children?” he shouted. “That’s what you need to care about.”

They Claim That the Event Was Immoral

While the man spoke, the attendees surrounding him did not appear engaged and instead focused on de-escalating the situation. One individual walked away to locate security, while another reiterated that the workshop was private and raised her hand to shield her face from the camera as the female preacher continued filming. At one point, a third person attempted to convince the man to step aside for a private conversation, but he refused.

Instead, the man continued preaching loudly, declaring, “You’re going to burn in hell unless you repent.” He accused the workshop attendees of corrupting children and framed his remarks as a warning of divine judgment. “Jesus is justice,” he said. “He said it’s an abomination.” The female preacher also joined in, repeatedly calling the attendees “child groomers” and condemning the event as shameful.

As the group stood around the two preachers and waited for security to arrive, the man continued his tirade, insisting that children were not meant to be sexualized and did not need support groups. He accused parents involved in the workshops of failing their children and repeated his claim that the event itself was immoral. A library staff member eventually arrived and informed the man that his behavior violated the library’s patron code of conduct and that he and his companion would need to leave the building. They complied with the request but continued shouting as they exited, warning those present that they would face judgment.

Netizens’ Reactions to the Chattanooga Public Library Confrontation

In the comments under a repost of the video on X, some people praised the preachers’ actions, saying they believed the pair did the right thing. One commenter wrote, “Good for him to stand up for these children.” Another added, “He’s asking the right questions to these people. They should feel uncomfortable!”

Others accused the library of pushing an agenda. “Libraries used to lend books. Now they’re lending ideologies,” one comment read, while another said, “Thats what happens when these institutions have their own agenda and are flush with money.”

However, not all reactions were supportive. Some pushed back on the accusations, arguing that the term grooming “is being used very loosely here,” mainly because the event was voluntary and that parents could ignore the message if “they don’t agree.”
