The department mentioned that the ice cream is free, and they are doing this hoping to connect with the community, and stopping around parks, public areas, and even BBQs. This, of course, has gathered a lot of positive reactions, as it is always nice to see the law enforcement departments interact with those they protect.
However, the reason why this ice cream became a reality and is now rolling around the community is that it was seized from criminals. The Sheriff’s Office mentioned that whenever they seize funds, they look for ways to give them back to the community, and many agree with this decision.
