A woman in Georgia says she was outraged after discovering a “large mold stain” on a Burger King burger her son ordered through DoorDash. She claims that despite submitting photo evidence, the delivery service declined to offer either a refund or a replacement.

I am livid. @DoorDash this is completely unacceptable! And @Burger King y’all need to do better too! 🤢 #doordash #burgerking #unacceptable

The mother explained in a TikTok video that the incident happened shortly after her son downloaded the DoorDash app and placed his very first order. According to her, when the food arrived, her son randomly flipped the burger over and immediately noticed the mold on the bun.

She Brought It Up to DoorDash

The woman said she initially reported the issue to DoorDash through the app and uploaded photos of the moldy burger, but the request was declined. She then searched for DoorDash’s customer service number and called directly, where a representative reportedly told her a refund could not be manually issued and escalated the matter to a supervisor.

However, after the mother was connected to the supervisor, he allegedly refused to help, citing her son’s “past order history” as the reason for denying compensation. When she explained that her son had just created the account and that this was his first-ever order, she said the employee responded that the history was “auto-generated” and that he could not review it.

The woman added that when she asked whether DoorDash could at least arrange a replacement delivery so her son would have something to eat, the answer was still no. “How does that make sense?” she asked in the video. “Y’all handing out moldy food. This is completely unacceptable.”

The situation was especially upsetting for the mom because her son is a young teenager who recently started working and used his own money to place the order for himself and his brothers. “He works hard every weekend,” she said. “Now he wasted his money and can’t even eat the food he ordered.”

In the comments section, many viewers sympathized with the mother and tagged both Burger King and DoorDash, urging them to address the situation. One person wrote, “This is insane and so dangerous!!” Another simply commented, “That’s wild!!”
