Aging can be risky, especially if you choose to ignore the new limits placed on a body that once seemed invincible. If you’re skeptical, consider the cautionary tale of a man from Missouri: during a recent party game, he pushed his aging bones and joints too far. He ended up snapping and fracturing his femur—the thigh bone, which happens to be the largest and strongest bone in the human body.

James Weishaar, believed to be in his thirties or older, was the unfortunate victim of a shocking accident that occurred on Thanksgiving while visiting his in-laws in St. Charles County, Missouri. During the celebration, Weishaar participated in a party game called *“Eat the Bag.”* The objective of the game is to pick up a paper bag from the floor using only your mouth, without allowing any part of your body—other than your feet—to touch the ground. The challenge demands both flexibility and musculoskeletal strength—qualities Weishaar’s body may have been less prepared to deliver. And then came the snap.

It appears that Weishaar over-rotated his femur (thigh bone), resulting in a painful and audible spiral fracture that left him unable to stand or walk. His family members immediately called an ambulance, and he was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care.

In a follow-up update, Weishaar shared that he is now recovering well. Doctors stabilized the injury by inserting a metal rod into his femur and securing the fractured bone fragments with bolts, and the fracture is currently healing as expected.

Many people online are expressing concern that another factor may have caused the fracture.

In Weishaar’s defense, he explained that the atmosphere was highly competitive. *“We were at my in-laws’, and everyone there is extremely competitive. I made it through the first few rounds and just couldn’t let my wife win… so I pushed myself a little too hard,” he admitted.

Although Weishaar appears to be doing fine now, it might be best for him to steer clear of high-intensity party games for a while—or perhaps for good.

Still, many people were concerned and offered numerous theories about what could have caused such a sudden and unexpected break. “I didn’t even know that was possible,” one viewer remarked, to which another replied, “Especially the femur—the largest single bone in the human body!” Indeed, femurs are known to be the strongest bones in our bodies and generally shouldn’t fracture so easily.

“A femur isn’t supposed to break like that—there must be something else going on medically,” observed one commenter. As a result, several viewers urged Weishaar to undergo a thorough bone examination or, humorously, to start drinking more milk. “I told him to get his bone density checked 😂. I’m a surgical first assist, and a spiral fracture is one of the worst and hardest to sustain. I honestly can’t believe that’s all it took 😂😂😂 poor guy! 😱😱😱” wrote another user, while someone simply advised, “Drink some milk, my guy.” Sensible suggestions, all things considered.
